Delete your account
You can delete your ShommyX Mobile account yourself, at any time. It is permanent, and it happens straight away.
From the app
- 1. Open ShommyX Mobile and sign in.
- 2. Go to Account.
- 3. Tap Delete account.
- 4. Type DELETE to confirm. If you still have money in either account, you will also be asked to sign, because deleting forfeits it.
Any balance you are holding is lost
Deleting your account erases your wallet and its transaction history, so whatever is left in your naira or dollar account goes with it. We cannot restore it afterwards, and there is no way to move it to another account.
Spend it or withdraw it first. If you are not sure what to do with a remaining balance, email us before you delete and we will help.
What is erased
- • Your profile — name, email, phone number and ShommyX ID.
- • Your naira and dollar accounts, and any balance in them.
- • Your full transaction history and top-up records.
- • Your saved contacts.
- • Your calling credentials, so the app can no longer place calls.
What we have to keep
Two things outlive the account, and both are deliberate.
- • A record that the account existed — the name, email and phone number it was registered with. This is what stops a closed account being used to start again with a clean slate after abuse.
- • Completed purchases — airtime, data, bills and gift cards you already bought and received. Your account is detached from them, but the sale itself is a financial record we are required to keep for accounting and tax.
Neither can be used to sign in, and neither restores anything. A deleted account cannot be reopened — you would register again from scratch.
If you have already uninstalled the app
Email support@shommyxmobile.com from the address your account is registered to, and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is you before we do anything, and email you when it is done.
Reinstalling and signing in is faster if you still can — the app deletes the account immediately, where an emailed request has to wait for a person.
